Then, the new-gen version, for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S would cost $69.99. In most cases, a last-gen version of the game would be available for $59.99, the standard price of last-gen games. The problem, however, is that there doesn’t appear to be cheaper separate PS4 or Xbox One versions of Modern Warfare 2.
This is nothing new as publishers have tried to balance the different console generations amidst supply chain issues. So if you have a PS4 right now, you’ll be able to play the game and then upgrade for free if you end up moving to PS5. The Cross-Gen bundle, as the name alludes, includes both last-gen and new-gen versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. As we covered in our pre-order breakdown, there are only two versions available: the Cross-Gen Bundle for $69.99 and the Vault Edition for $99.99.
